"40 YEARS ON THE ROAD & STILL GOING STRONG"

BOB SOUTH’S experience as a guitarist and vocalist spans four decades of popular music, starting with teenage rock and pop bands in the ’60s through to his present solo career. During this time he has toured extensively, performing in his own bands and supporting acts such as King Crimson, Climax Blues Band, The Troggs, Fairport Convention and The Nice. His unique guitar style reflects the influences of Dave Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix and Gary Moore. His current repertoire includes classics made famous by these rock legends and many other guitar greats — Blackmore, Knopfler, Santana, Clapton, etc. He also plays “more easy-listening material” such as The Eagles, Bryan Adams, Chris Rea and REM. Furthermore, his versatility and wealth of experience enable him to incorporate ’50s, ’60s, and Country music, as appropriate. Bob South’s stage act is self-contained, using hi-tech sound and light systems. Sophisticated computer programming reproduces his own authentic backing. All guitar and vocals are completely live, ensuring an exciting and atmospheric performance, whatever the venue. A demo CD “INTRODUCING BOB SOUTH” illustrates the skill of this virtuoso guitarist and the quality of his vocal ability. To hear this CD on line, or to download it, go to "Listen to Bob"
